Dr Rechnitzer has been in involved in and led many Safety Engineering projects, including major projects for a variety of organisations including WorkCover Victoria, BHP-Billiton and other mining companies, Victoria Police, the Australian Defence Force, Monash University Accident Research Centre, University of New South Wales, Sydney Airport and major multinational companies like Cargill, Hancock & Acciona, on a large range of projects from vehicle safety and forklift safety through to construction industry safety, level crossing improvements, heavy vehicle safety, and many others.
GRA’s specialisation is the integration of high level scientific and engineering expertise, fundamentals of safety philosophy and practice, failure analysis, litigation experience, OH&S and risk assessments to reviewing and improving safety systems.
Road Safety and Workplace Safety has been a long standing interest and passion of Dr Rechnitzer, with many years at MUARC, and currently holding positions as Adjunct Assoc. Professor at the Transport and Road Safety (TARS) Research center at University of NSW in Sydney and Adjunct Assoc. Professor Forensics Engineering at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine – VIFM (Monash University).
